Zano Companion is the bridge between your wallet and web3 applications on Zano. Think of it as MetaMask for the Zano ecosystem.
To use Obscura in your browser, you must have Zano Companion installed. It enables minting, buying, selling, and managing NFTs on the platform.

Desktop Setup Guide
Prerequisites
- ✅ Zano Desktop Wallet installed
- ✅ Wallet fully synced with blockchain
- ✅ Chrome/Brave/Edge browser
Step-by-Step Installation
1️⃣ Enable Companion in Wallet
- Open your Zano Desktop Wallet
- Wait for full blockchain sync
- Navigate to Settings
- Toggle Zano Companion ON
If prompted, create a strong master password. This protects your wallet connection.
2️⃣ Copy Wallet Secret
After enabling Companion, you'll see a wallet secret displayed.
🔑 Copy this secret - you'll need it for the extension
Never share your wallet secret with anyone. Treat it like a private key.
3️⃣ Install Browser Extension
- Visit Chrome Web Store
- Click Add to Chrome/Brave/Edge
- Confirm installation
4️⃣ Configure Extension
- Open Zano Companion extension (click icon in browser)
- Paste wallet secret from Step 2
- Create login password for extension access
- Confirm setup
✅ Extension is now connected to your wallet!
5️⃣ (Optional) Register Alias
Some dApps use Zano aliases as user identities.
- Go to wallet Alias settings
- Register a unique @username
- Use across Zano ecosystem
Connecting to Obscura
First-Time Connection
- Visit obscura.art in your browser
- Click Connect Wallet button
- Select Zano Extension (if multiple options)
- Approve connection in popup window
You only need to approve the connection once. Future visits will connect automatically.

Once connected, full Obscura access:
