How to Mint an Obscura NFT

Create your first private NFT on the Obscura platform using Zano Companion.

Prerequisites

You'll need a Zano wallet with some ZANO for transaction fees and Zano Companion installed.

📱 Desktop vs Mobile​

Zano Companion works on both platforms:

  • Desktop: Browser extension for Chrome/Brave
  • Mobile: Integrated into the Zano Wallet app

Step-by-Step Guide​

1️⃣ Open Your Zano Wallet​

Launch your Zano wallet and wait for it to fully sync with the blockchain.

2️⃣ Enable Zano Companion (Desktop Only)​

  1. In the desktop wallet, go to Settings
  2. Activate the Zano Companion toggle
  3. Set a master password if prompted
  4. Copy the wallet secret shown in settings
Keep Your Secret Safe

Never share your wallet secret with anyone. Store it securely offline.

3️⃣ Install the Extension (Desktop Only)​

  1. Add the Zano Companion extension from Chrome Web Store
  2. Paste your wallet secret
  3. Create a password to access the extension

4️⃣ Visit Obscura Platform​

Desktop: Navigate to obscura.art → Create Obscura

Mobile: Open Zano Wallet → Browser → Visit Obscura platform

5️⃣ Connect Your Wallet​

  1. Click Connect Wallet on the Obscura platform
  2. Approve the connection request in Zano Companion
  3. Your wallet is now linked privately

6️⃣ Mint Your NFT​

Before minting, prepare your NFT:

  • ✅ Upload your image/media
  • ✅ Fill in metadata (title, description, properties)
  • ✅ Set supply and other parameters

Then:

  1. Click the Mint button
  2. Approve the transaction in Zano Companion
  3. Wait for 10 confirmation blocks (~10 minutes)
Transaction Time

With one block every minute, minting takes approximately 10 minutes to complete on the Zano blockchain.

🎉 Success! Your NFT is now privately stored in your wallet.
